Initial Setup and Collaboration
In an essential phase of enhancing hmv's email marketing capabilities, I spearheaded a comprehensive email warmup strategy that was completed successfully within a month, with no disruption to our ongoing service. This initiative was crucial as we transitioned to Bloomreach Engagement, necessitating close collaboration with the Bloomreach deliverability team. My role involved building brand new HTML email templates from scratch, which not only refreshed our visual presentation but also incorporated long-requested features. One such enhancement was the integration of customer reviews from Trustpilot directly into our emails, a feature that significantly boosted our credibility and customer engagement.
Strategic IP Warmup Process
The technical aspect of my involvement included working with key internal stakeholders, such as our executives, Data Protection Officer, and Data Integrity team, to meticulously plan and execute the IP warmup while simultaneously drawing down the old IP. A critical focus of this strategy was to ensure that no customer received duplicate emails from both IPs, which required precise coordination and oversight of the content distribution across the two systems. This strategic approach allowed us to maintain the continuity of sending out business-critical messages without compromising the effectiveness of the IP warmup.

The IP warmup was completed in record time and marked a significant milestone in our ability to enhance message deliverability. By successfully warming up the new IP address, we achieved a substantial increase in our capacity to distribute messages to customers, thereby improving our overall reach and effectiveness in email marketing.
